Chief Revenue Officer/Managing Director Fund at OneEleven in Toronto, Canada

OneEleven is North America’s largest scaleup innovation hub focused on helping the most promising, high-growth startups build their businesses and scale their operations.

This newly created role reports directly into the CEO and will be responsible for continuing to build on OneEleven’s reputation as THE Canadian innovation hub by creating and expanding its offerings to the startup community. The CRO will also act as the Managing Director for a newly formed investment fund targeting early stage high potential startups within Canada. Through these activities, and working in tandem with the CEO and COO, the CRO will position and promote OneEleven as a “one stop shop” for investment, support and community to Canada’s most promising founders.

What you will be doing

  • Work to develop and form the OneEleven Fund.
  • Partner with the CEO and COO to create a long-term vision and strategic plan for the growth and expansion of OneEleven
  • Assess and suggest strategies to increase and diversify revenue generating programs
  • Engage with the Canadian technology eco-system to ensure program value, participation and success
  • Ensure that all programming and messaging is aligned with OneEleven’s brand and focuses on key differentiators
  • Identify and prioritize high potential start-ups in the North American technology industry for investment
  • Evaluate potential investments with financial and operational due diligence, market research, competitive analysis, and product/technology analysis
  • Review valuation and deal structure modeling relating to new investments, follow-on financings and liquidity events
  • Develop new, and build on, current relationships to create a large network of technology executives, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, government contacts and others within the start-up industry.

What you bring to the table

  • At least ten years of consistent, progressive career growth preferably in the technology and venture capital industries. Ideally this will include direct investment experience as well as a senior level corporate development and/or sales and marketing role (i.e. CRO, CCO, CCDO)
  • Have the credibility and experience in the Venture Capital community to raise the capital for the Fund.
  • A track record of conceiving and bringing revenue generating ideas to market
  • A portfolio of companies you took through the investment process including identification, due diligence and negotiation
  • The ability to think big picture while still focusing on the details including building out project plans and roadmaps
  • An extensive network in the Canadian start-up community and a desire to cultivate new relationships
  • Clear and concise communication skills including strong executive level presentation experience
  • A passion for technology demonstrated by in-depth knowledge of current and emerging innovations and trends
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
