Event Management Internship at Ashville Media Group in Dublin, Ireland

We are looking for a smart energetic Event Management Internship to join out team! This is an unpaid internship for 6-9 months.

The Events Division of Ashville Media produces a number of homegrown events, including the maternity & infant Awards, Digital Media Awards, LAMA Awards, the Irish Law Awards, Gold Medal Awards, The Blog Awards, Bar of the Year Awards and the Irish Print Awards.


The event management intern will work alongside an Event Manager on 2016 The Blog Awards from the launch through the call for entry period until the awards ceremony and post event.

They will be responsible for all elements of organising the awards from, working with venues, sponsors and entrants, liaising with the design department on all design for the awards. Public Relations, Social Media and website maintenance plus a variety of administrative tasks.

The Blog Awards Ireland are the premier event within Ireland’s blogging community. The 2015 awards saw over 500 bloggers attend the burlesque meets speakeasy themed event.

The Candidate

  • The events division is a fast growing area of Ashville Media and requires a person who works well within a team and on their own initiative.
  • Candidate must be fluent in English, be confident dealing with all clients at management level, suppliers and peers, works well under pressure and has strong admin skills.
  • This role will suit a candidate who wishes to progress within a dynamic events team with a leading publishing house, who can diversify between corporate and consumer clients, multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Applications must be computer literate and having experience in WordPress is an advantage.

What you gain

  • Event Interns will gain experience in the following areas:
  • Management and maintenance of award database & website.
  • Preparation, distribution and follow up of marketing e-zines
  • Follow-up calls to solicit entries/attendance/RSVPs for relevant events
  • Liaison with design on all aspects of design for the awards.
  • Coordinate with designers to update advertisement and editorial etc in any relevant publications associated with events
  • Manage the updating of Facebook apps and websites: drafting all website copy, managing SEO and monitoring traffic
  • Account management of any internal and external 3rd parties, including other Ashville Media departments and any partners/sponsors/associations we are working with to produce events – ensure we exceed client expectations
  • Collect all relevant event collateral e.g. logos, photos etc
  • Drafting, distribution and follow-up of press releases with media
  • Assistance with event management and production, including liaison with any suppliers for catering, venue, photography, AV, print, decoration etc
  • Working with senior members of the team to ensure smooth running of the event(s), including, facilitating sponsors, delegates, clients etc
  • Work on all elements of admin involved with running a successful event
  • General support for Events Director as required

As an Event Executive you will be mentored and guided by senior members of the event management team in all aspects of Event Management – should there be specific areas that you wish to develop your experience further we would be delighted to facilitate this where possible.
