The opportunity

We have a vacancy in our MIS/BI/Reporting team for a bright and ambitious report writer with full-stack skills in Oracle 11g/12c (SQL and PL/SQL) and experience of Tableau.

The reporting role encompasses both Tableau data entity layer and reporting/dashboard layer and publishing/scheduling. The role also encompasses Oracle data mart preparation/data aggregation required to support ad-hoc reporting from the corporate data warehouse.

The ideal candidate will have not only strong technical reporting and data-manipulation skills, but will be business-aware, strong attention to details and quality focus, and strong problem solving capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide be responsible for developing and maintaining Tableau reports and data extracts and will

  • Design and build data layers, including data manipulation procedures, to support reports and dashboards
  • Work with business stakeholders to design, build test and deliver and support Tableau reports, data manipulation and extracts
The person must have experience in a BI role where Tableau is used in a data warehousing and reporting environment. The primary job function is PL/SQL & ETL script design, development, QA.

Technical Skills

A successful candidate must have the following technical skills:

  • Report writing – 4+ years experience using an enterprise report tool
  • Oracle SQL / PL/SQL – 4+ years hands-on experience
  • Tableau - 2+ years report-writing and data entity creation and/or maintenance
  • Expert proficiency in MS Excel (Pivot, analysis functions etc.)
  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing design/data modelling
  • Some familiarity with Oracle Performance Tuning – e.g. Explain Plan Function
  • Oracle Cube and Materialized View
  • Unix (RHEL) Shell scripting
