Restaurant Team Leader

Availability: Open 7 days per week. BuJo is scheduled to open in September 2017.

BuJo is a casual, neighbourhood Burger Joint serving chargrilled, grass-fed burgers using only the finest of Irish beef; hand-cut & triple-cooked fries; ice-cream sandwiches; silky smooth milk shakes; craft beer, wine, premium coffee and more.


​Job Requirements

In the Team Leader Guest Services role, you must be self-motivated, have a naturally positive disposition, possess a passion for teamwork and above all else be a genuinely hospitable & kind person. We are seeking confident & articulate characters with a talent for leading and inspiring others. You must exhibit uncommonly high standards and be committed to the training and development of our team members. Having a strong work ethic, you enjoy working in a fast paced environment, are tech savvy and have a natural aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail. Previous hospitality and/or food service experience is an advantage but absolutely not a requirement.

​Team Leader Guest Services - Hospitality Duties

Key Criteria

  • Delivering exemplary hospitality to all BuJo stakeholders

Duties

  • Operating the tills during service
  • Serving alcohol responsibly
  • Changing kegs & gas
  • Setting up the restaurant for service (condiments station, cleaning, setting up the tills)
  • Cashing up at the end of the night with manager
  • Ensuring all orders are manually put through the ePOS when required
  • HACCP checklist

  • Responsibilities
  • Leads and/or performs the opening procedures and set-up and prepares the restaurant to be guest-ready by opening
  • Ensures that the team maintains clean and organized storage areas and follows all receiving procedures
  • Handles the reporting of all product quality failures (PQFs) quickly and appropriately
  • Manages the cleanliness & maintenance of the Front of House restaurant
  • Takes the necessary steps to ensure that all equipment functions properly in order to provide the team with the tools they need to serve our guests to our high standards
  • Trains, coaches and guides team members and trainers during the shift – ensuring that all communication, and procedural tools are being used and followed – in a continuous effort to achieve operational excellence, effective communication and excellent hospitality every day
  • Manages shift labor to ensure proper staff utilization, proper employee breaks and overall labor efficiency during the shift
  • Manages and ensures that all cash handling, reconciliation and credit card procedures are followed on the shift to ensure the safe-keeping of our employees and the security of all cash and credit card transactions
  • Manages the shift to ensure the lowest possible wait times and amazing hospitality while driving sales, reducing waste and upholding quality standards
  • Overseeing the preparation in the kitchen and ensuring quality
  • Taking in deliveries and stock rotation, ensuring all credit notes and returns are accounted for

  • Run the assembly station during service, ensuring all orders are accurately collated to standard before being served

​Job Responsibilities

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for helping to lead and drive the daily operations of BuJo working closely with the Restaurant Manager, your fellow Team Leaders & Crew Members. We will provide you with an extensive on the job training program to prepare you for success. You will however be highly motivated, optimistic and possess a naturally positive disposition to getting things done the right way...on time, every time.

Other responsibilities of the Team Leader role include:

  • Creating & upholding our standards of excellence and hospitality
  • Managing all functions on our daily checklist alongside the restaurant manager
  • Trains, coaches and guides team members and trainers during the shift – ensuring that all communication, and procedural tools are being used and followed – in a continuous effort to achieve operational excellence, effective communication and excellent hospitality every day
  • Overseeing stock, quality and safety
  • Manages the shift to ensure the lowest possible wait times and amazing hospitality while driving sales, reducing waste and upholding quality standards.

About Us

Our two founders are childhood buddies who grew up just a few doors from each other. In 2014, their better halves gave birth to two beautiful girls – in the same hospital, on the same floor and on the very same day. Naturally, over much back-slapping, high fiving and toasting to their daughters, wives, each other, the barman etc. etc. they got to thinking about working together...

Why? Well they figured that as fathers, they had a responsibility to do something that would inspire their new daughters. Something that stood for the greater good. Not knowing 'what' that was, or even 'how' they were going to do it wasn't important - the 'why' was the driving force.

Roll on a few years, thousands of miles in road trips across the US & Europe, scores of late night meetings in kitchens, way too many cups of coffee, bottles of wine and beer and boom! BuJo (Burger Joint, get it?) was born.
