IEX is the fair, simple, and transparent stock exchange that believes every investor is entitled to the same right to trade on equal terms on every trade.
The SEC recently approved IEX as a registered national securities exchange—as the first new U.S. exchange in more than six years, IEX is on a mission to level the playing field, eliminating unfair advantages from the markets. IEX is an exchange that believes markets should reward smarter—not faster.
IEX provides an opportunity to learn and gain experience, both inside and outside your domain of expertise. Our team represents a cross-section of the electronic trading industry and IEX has created a learning environment where team members are encouraged to cross boundaries and contribute to the company both in their core role as well as in other functions.
By encouraging our team to seek knowledge and expand their expertise, our company will continue to push new boundaries based on our ability to attract and unlock talent. In fact, many of our discoveries and innovations are the result of combining our diverse ideas, knowledge and skills.
Although redesigning IEX's new World Trade Center office was a huge undertaking, building a powerhouse workspace was more than worthwhile.
Creating an industrial look with bright open spaces, sleek lines, white and gray finishes, and pops of signature orange set a cheerful, productive mood—and having dry-erase painted walls in conference rooms and throughout the office ensures IEX's whiteboard-obsessed teams never lack creative space.
At IEX, we have a team of 75 creative people, and we try to maintain this creative spirit by keeping a flat organisational structure. We also try to keep our teams small and lean, so that our people can work more easily and communicate more effectively.
Hangouts and Teach-ins
In addition to taking impromptu leisurely walks, exploring undiscovered coffee shops, having beers with colleagues, or chitchatting about random topics or ideas day-to-day, IEX employees also host formal internal discussion forums called Teach-Ins to bring all IEX teams together. Employees prepare presentations about company activities and how diverse roles influence results—and the popular event is followed by Q&A sessions, fun socializing, and drinks.
Bringing a fresh approach to a centuries-old business, a major part of IEX's mission is to demystify the myths and misconceptions of today's stock market. As pioneers and educators, IEX employees and senior executives are on a mission to make markets more transparent by sharing their insights and observations with investors, executives, and groups that are dependent on a thriving marketplace. As an Exchange, IEX also advocates on behalf of investors, giving a voice to those whom IEX was built to serve.
