Northgate has been supplying and managing vehicles for businesses across Ireland for almost 17 years. We continue to grow and dominate the light commercial vehicle market with a fleet of approximately 4,500 vans and depots in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and a new depot opening soon in Galway.

Our History!

In 2001 Northgate Vehicle Hire Ireland opened with the first branch location being in Dublin. From 2013 we grew our business in Ireland with the opening of branches in Cork, Limerick and Sandyford, south Dublin. Last year we relocated our Dublin head office as part of our goal to continually improve the service we offer our customers. Currently we are looking at opening further depots in Ireland to further serve our growing base of customers.

The majority of our branches have their own workshops which enables us to plan and schedule maintenance events at times that will cause least disruption to our customers. We also have a partnership with the AA to provide breakdown support and recovery.

Training & Development

We work with some of our most promising team members in the early stages of their careers to give them stretching learning experiences right across the business.

We offer training from the moment you join us either face to face or online.

  • Technical and Product events train our motor vehicle technicians on the specific requirements of different manufacturers as well as managing safety in the workplace and on the road
  • The Northgate Sales Academy includes a wide range of learning for our sales teams including practical selling skills, CRM, product knowledge and self insight.
  • HR and People Management Training supports our managers to improve their knowledge and skills around a host of people related situations including communication and recruitment
  • Our LEAD Management Programme is just one example of our excellent development programmes which is open to current, new and future managers. From this training, managers can go on to achieve their level 5 certificate in Leadership and Management (accredited by the ILM)

Induction

To improve your confidence from day one we equip you with the information that you need through our online induction which is available to you even before you join us. Most people will then work with their line manager on a tailored introduction to the business; however in some areas this initial training is extended

  • Workshop Induction focusses on our procedures and day to day responsibilities and duties
  • Rental Induction is an insight into all processes and procedures as well as the systems involved
  • Driver Induction looks at standards, how to interact with the customers as well as the Northgate product range
