Secret Escapes is a members-only flash sales business focused on inspirational travel trading in over 20 different countries.  We plan to double the size of our development team this year in order to power our mission to become the world’s best.

Main responsibilities

  • Leadership in adoption of modern and lean front end engineering practises among fellow developers
  • Definition of front end standards and ownership of the browser, OS and platform support strategy
  • Optimisation of javascript build, test and deploy cycles to ensure maximum page load and runtime performance
  • Collaboration with product managers and designers to create prototypes necessary for usability evaluations, A/B and MVT testing and development specifications
  • Translation of interaction and visual designs into production quality front-end experiences
  • Extension of the structure that supports multi-territory and white label partnerships
  • Eventual migration of the front end into its own well designed architecture
  • Front-end Code Component library, as part of the Design Language System

Role Requirements

  • Familiarity with modern frameworks like jQuery, React, Angular, Backbone and their ecosystems
  • Experience with using A/B tests and user testing to drive product backlogs
  • Knowledge of component driven Front End development
  • Believer in test driven development and continuous deployment
  • Comfortable working in distributed teams
  • Jira, Git/Github, Jenkins skills essential
  • OTA and/or eCommerce experience a bonus
