Data really is at the heart of what we do and we are looking for a talented data engineer to take ownership of maintaining and building on this critical business infrastructure. We collect data about website traffic from GA, Optimizely and Snowplow and we merge it with email campaign data from Salesforce Marketing Cloud. We then enrich this with data from our transactional production databases and other internal and external sources. This data then powers a number of reports and live dashboards (Geckoboards).
This role sits within the platform engineering team, but you will work closely with the newly appointed Head of Data and business users located throughout the business to help build a world-class data infrastructure to support insights at every level in the business, to drive decisions, experimentation and to create data products. As such, you are technical and detail oriented but also enjoy working with non-technical people. The role offers a chance to make a huge impact on the way all of our teams use data!
The post will receive guidance from the Head of Data, in terms of prioritising workload and time management. The post holder will receive guidance on strategic direction but will have a high level of decision making in relation to day to day activity and it is essential that the candidate has the proven ability to work under pressure often with conflicting priorities to drive tasks or projects to assured successful conclusions.
We still work in small teams, so everyone’s voice matters. We're friendly, happy and we love what we do so we work hard. We're not afraid to get our hands dirty and we're all madly passionate about our brand.
Things you should know about us
We are a multicultural team with team members based in London and Bristol, Berlin, Poznan and Warsaw in Poland, and Skopje (Macedonia). We communicate and collaborate with a variety of tools including Slack and Google Hangouts and when we do get together in the same place we like to play pool and gather round the Xbox.
Continuous improvement is a key principle of the team and it's important that everyone is always improving both technically and professionally. The business provides opportunities to further their career and hone their skills through individual development plans, as well as a generous budget for training.
