Head of Data at Secret Escapes in London, United Kingdom

This role sits within Financial Planning and Analysis team, but you will work closely with analysts and commercial leads across the business. We’d see our Head of Data regularly participating in the conversations that drive our commercial tactics and longer term consumer and supply side strategies.

Secret Escapes is a members-only ‘flash sales’ business focused on inspirational travel. Set up 2011, it is now trading in over 20 different countries, has over 800 staff and boasts over 40 million members. We have ambitious plans for continued growth and are already market leader in several of our territories.

Data really is at the heart of what we do and we are looking for a talented Head of Data to take our data offering, processes and analysis to the next level. We collect data about website traffic from GA, Optimizely and Snowplow and we merge it with email campaign data from Salesforce Marketing Cloud. We then enrich this with data from our transactional production databases and other internal and external sources. This data then powers a number of reports and live dashboards (Geckoboards).

This role sits within Financial Planning and Analysis team, but you will work closely with analysts and commercial leads across the business. We’d see our Head of Data regularly participating in the conversations that drive our commercial tactics and longer term consumer and supply side strategies. Success will be assessed on the basis of insights’ actionability, so it’s a must that our Head of Data has the ability to think commercially and ‘sell in’ findings to the teams who are best positioned to take action.

In the first instance there will be a high degree of autonomy in that the successful applicant will need to build their understanding of our current setup via exploration and speaking to technology, product and marketing teams. Then focus will move to defining the data strategy, gaining buy-in, and executing it.

In terms of culture we're friendly, happy and we love what we do so we work hard.  We're not afraid to get our hands dirty and we're all madly passionate about our brand.
