The Carrier Operations Number Administrator is responsible for taking direction from the Senior Manager of Telephone numbering with regards to the current initiatives involved with migrating and building one telephone numbering system for our Essentials, Premier, API and residential lines of business. The Carrier Operations Number Administrator will be responsible for ensuring all industry related databases are correctly updated with regards to Vonage securing our own numbers from NANPA. The Carrier Operations Number Administrator will also be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations required to manage our telephone numbering inventory including ensuring adequate levels of telephone numbers are available across all rate centers via direct ordering from NANPA or via various CLEC partners.

Your mission

  • Work with other internal groups such as Marketing and Product to develop and implement a single source numbering database supporting all of the Vonage lines of business.
    • Business practices for contiguous numbering blocks and rules around assignment and / or reservations of these number ranges.
    • Best practices and processes around Vanity numbers assignments for Vonage Business customers.
  • Under guidance from Vonage Product, create vision and develop relationships for International number partners.
    • Manage International inventory.
  • Work with Vonage CLEC partners regarding hosted numbering solution ensuring all routing information is obtained and updated via industry guidelines.
  • Work with Vonage Regulatory ensuring all required state level notifications are submitted in a timely manner allowing for meeting or exceeding rollout schedule.
  • Update all industry related databases (BIRDDS, PAS, NAS, etc.) ensuring Vonage procured numbers are able to place and receive calls properly.
  • Manage the reporting of Vonage owned telephone number inventory to the NRUF administrators as required under VoIP telephone numbering Order.
  • Review and recommend potential modifications to current programs around Vonage Business and TN inventory related to CLEC partners; return processes and port-in / port-out practices.
  • Represent Vonage at various industry related meetings both in person (travel) and via conference call.
  • Update rate center and did inventory forecasting procedures.


  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong knowledge of Google applications(Docs, Gmail, Drive..etc).
  • Must be able to provide detailed and summary level data analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while ensuring tactical focus on a day to day basis.
  • Knowledge of National Pooling Administration process related to ordering new code or block requests.
  • Knowledge of LERG, BIRRDS and other code admin related databases such as PAS and NAS .
  • Knowledge of NRUF reporting.

Additional Skills (would like to have but not required)

  • Ability to communicate system and operational requirements and manage customer data.
  • Participate in conference calls with CLEC partners
  • Knowledge of IP telephony and/or Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a plus


  • Undergraduate degree preferred.
