Millions of users. Billions of tags. Countless moments of discovery. Shazam brings a unique brand of magic to millions every day. It’s our people – their imagination, skills and ideas – that shape our future, and help us make the impossible come to life. Bring us your vision, and it’ll be you creating the wow moments that excite people across the world.
Shazam is operating at a scale that few companies ever reach, with over 20 million music recognition requests per day, over 120 million users per month, and tens of thousands of requests per second. This role is key to ensuring that this mission-critical function and the software and services that power it are built, deployed, and operated to the highest standards.
Where does the role sit?
Joining our San Diego office, reporting to the Head of Site Reliability Engineering in London, this role bridges the gap between software development and operations, acting as a consultant and mentor to both developers and operations staff alike. This role exists within an intercontinental team, spanning offices in San Diego and London.
Who You Are:
Shazam is the kind of place where you really get to create impact and be creative. We are a small company behind the scenes, which means that you will be working on big features very quickly, perhaps even day one. Whether it's how we integrate with iMessage, or how we make sure our systems can cope with the scale needed around big events like the Super Bowl, there are a million things that we need people to come and help us figure out at Shazam.
